Leaving the security of our Refuge and returning to live in the community can be challenging, particularly if you have come here from another part of the country, don’t know the area and, apart from those you’ve met in refuge, haven’t had a chance to make new friends. Starting afresh can feel daunting but our Resettlement Team is here to support you.

We understand that this may be a difficult time, but it also presents new opportunities. We are here to provide whatever practical and emotional support you need.

Our all -female team can offer help with practical and emotional issues including:

  • Housing
  • Budgeting
  • Legal matters
  • Employment
  • Education and changes in schools

Our approach is trauma informed, by which we mean that we aim to work with you to help overcome the effects of domestic abuse and to help you move towards a greater sense of safety and wellbeing.

We offer regular drop-ins, family and group activities, children’s support sessions and school holiday experiences, as well as access to further support from our Community Service including outreach to visit you in your new home and support from our Helpline and Wellbeing programme.
